Update of the regulatory file on data protection
At the outset of Gazel, the Commission Nationale Informatique et Libertés (CNIL, the French data protection authority) authorised the setting up and monitoring of the cohort. However, this authorisation dates back to ... 1988, 36 years ago!
Since then, many things have changed, such as the GDPR (European General Data Protection Regulation), in terms of the legislative and regulatory aspects concerning the protection of personal data, particularly health data. Naturally, with the agreement of the CNIL, we have adapted our procedures as necessary to ensure that we remain compliant and guarantee the confidentiality and security of your data in accordance with the legislation.
But we didn't want to be satisfied with the many successive "patches" we have implemented, and to update Gazel's entire regulatory file. This procedure is underway and will simplify the management of regulatory aspects concerning the protection of your data, and enable us to continue collecting data about you.
